Scott’s Testimony
“ I was born into a Christian family. When I was five years old, my family moved to Portugal to be church-planting missionaries. From age 5-17 I was privileged to grow up in a different culture, learn a new language, and watch God work in tremendous ways through my parents ministry. Although I heard the Gospel from a very young age, and having made a profession of faith at 4, it was not until I was 18 years old that the Holy Spirit convicted my heart and drew me to Christ with His love. I understood my true need for a Savior, repented from my sin and my “goodness”, and placed my trust in Him and His finished work on the cross alone for my salvation. I knew that God had called me to preach the Gospel that had changed me, and I returned to Portugal to study at the IBEV seminary, where I also worked in various church ministries. After graduating, my wife and I moved to Georgia where we would spend 3 years interning and training for the mission field under the mentoring of pastor and veteran missionary Austin Gardner. It was there that God confirmed His direction for our lives to reach SW Europe with the Gospel, working specifically in Barcelona, Spain.”

Melissa’s Testimony
“ I was raised in a Christian home and had the opportunity to be in church all of my life. Through the preaching of the Word and the work of the Holy Spirit in my heart, I personally received Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior at the age of six. All my trust is in Christ and what He has done for me, I know that I am His! Through my teen years, the Lord put a burden on my heart for world-missions. Because of this, I studied Spanish in high-school, and spent six weeks in Peru with Bro. Austin Gardner. After we were married, I finished my studies in Portugal at the IBEV seminary, and got to  experience life on the mission field first hand. I am so excited that God has allowed me to be the wife and help-meet of a missionary, and will follow him wherever God leads!”
